What do we do?
At GITA, we provide a wide range of services and resources tailored to your needs. From industry insights and training to networking opportunities and exclusive member benefits, we work to keep you ahead of the curve. Our advocacy efforts help shape the future of the industry by ensuring your voice is heard on key policy issues. We also offer valuable connections, whether you’re looking to collaborate with other businesses or connect with trusted professional service partners in areas like legal, financial, and health and safety.
Benefits of Membership in detail
1. REPRESENTATION
Collective advocacy to a wide range of stakeholders (National and Devolved Government, Local Councils and NGOs) on the issues that members have determined are important to the success of the industry generally and their businesses specifically. For example:
- Health and Safety (recently received clarity that glamping is covered in new Government Guidance) Food Hygiene
- Licensing
- Planning
- Employment and Business
- Tourism and accommodation provision
Acting as point-person for all media enquiries and acting as a spokesperson for the industry as necessary.
Promotion of the industry through media and social media.
2. KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER
Providing an extensive library of guidance literature and personal expertise about the glamping industry and provision of advice about operation. (In Development)
Regular talks and webinars (on-line and in person) on any aspect of glamping and the operation of glamping sites. (see attached for latest programme)
Access to the information resources of other organisations with which GITA has partnered. (In development)
A one-stop shop for all you need to know about glamping.
3. TRAINING
- Access to bespoke glamping related on-line training.(In development)
4. VALUE-ADDING SERVICES
- GITA Business Support providers unlimited access to advisors in HR, Health and Safety, Tax and VAT and legal matters, coupled with a downloadable document library to make your business better and to avoid costly mistakes.
- Partnership with AA to promote their Free accreditation scheme, Visitor Ready – (launching on 6th March)
- Through the GITA Buying Club (launching on April 3rd) members receive discounts on a range of goods and services exclusively negotiated with suppliers.
- Free subscription to on-line merchandising store that can be incorporated into members’ websites allowing branded merchandise to be purchased by customers. (Launching on 30th April)
5. BRAND VALUE AND STANDARDS
- Membership of GITA will be conditional on members meeting a set of minimum operational standards. Members of GITA can associate themselves with the GITA brand and logo.
6. NETWORKING
- Members of GITA will have the opportunity to network at various events around the UK from time to time as well as the Glamping Show each September as well as in on-line communities.
7. INSURANCE
- If something goes wrong, then GITA is there for you and will help guide you to the knowledge, advice and professional support you might need.
8. MEMBERSHIP REFERRAL SCHEME
- Due to launch in April, members who refer a non-member who subsequently joins the Association will receive a one month per referral discount off their next year’s subscription. (T&Cs apply)
